CTSubiefan
I asked my dealer what the subaru factory tint was when I was tinting mine. He honestly admitted that they had no clue what the factory tint % was. Honest but disappointing.
BAC5.2
Lame. I don't like having the back of the car dark, but the front untinted. Since I'm taking my wifes Impreza to get all 7 windows tinted. Might as well have them do my front two while they are at it. I might also tint my sunroof, but I have no idea how dark. Probably 35.... but I kind of want blue, like the OEM tint on my 94 Legacy Turbo. spooby54
Chances are you can go to a tent shop and they can match it up, they might be the best place to go to even ask about it.
Zues Marine
from my experience, tent shops are a horrible place to get this done, its like they have no clue what they're doing... but at least they always have you covered
RabidWombat
Ask the dealer what tint shop they use. There are plenty of good shops, and unfortunately just as many bad ones.

They should be able to get you close. The fronts always look a little lighter even when it's matched because of the amount of light coming in the windshield and the sunroof. JayRez33
yeah i would say 35% would match up pretty nicely...i would also recommend a 5-7" strip across the front windshield to help with sun in your eyes and it looks good IMO
BAC5.2
Thanks guys! I'm going to head over there next Wednesday and get my sunroof tinted with 20%. Their prices were whacked. They wanted $199 to tint the 7 windows of my wifes 09 Impreza hatch, $99 to tint my front two windows only, but just $30 to do the monster sunroof. Makes no sense. I'm gonna go get the sunroof done, and ask if it'll REALLY be $99 to do just my front two. If they knock the price down for my front two windows, then I'll leave and bring my wifes Impreza back to have them do all 7 on it. Now I just need to decide if I want to tint the roof blue or not... clarkwgriswold
what's the darkest legal limit i can go, and where can i do it for cheap? The darkness depends on where you live and you get what you pay for with tint. Try making some phone calls to local guys and see what they're charging. Are we supposed to guess where you live? Anything in the $200 range is a decent price.
BAC5.2
Oh, I forgot to mention. The stock "privacy glass" is 22% VLT according to the fancy meter at the tint shop. And I got 5% on the roof. There is absolutely NO WAY I would get 5% on all the windows. That's just too damn dark.
