Legacy Wagon
for those who may not it's a lifesaver I've been using this trick for about a year now and it just occurred to me that some people may not know about it. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures from work. The strut tower hood prop. It's quite possibly the best thing ever. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/TetsuoShima/111.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/TetsuoShima/1111.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/TetsuoShima/22-1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/TetsuoShima/2asdfas.jpg

Dr Kenneth Noisewater
every subaru model (besides the new ones) has this feature. Its great when you need to get really in there

Dr Kenneth Noisewater
your 05 most certainly did It just isnt as obvious as the leggo. The WRX has a hole in the strut tower right under the beauty panel covering the bcs. the rod slides into there
Legacy Wagon
You're kidding me, right? I never noticed. Feel like a retard. Wish I could see it again *sigh* I miss that car
brittcrowell
Well thats a cool feature, I just tried it on mine, and it worked, '93 Legacy Wagon awd. But for everyone else that might try this be careful. When I was lowering my hood, my hinge broke on the drivers side! The back part of the hood hinge was stuck in the full up position and very tight. Might want to look in to lubricating the hinge before trying this since depending on the year of your car has never moved in to that position in the 21-16 year from when it was built! Legacy Wagon
Yeah, my friend Bryan actually showed me one day. He started taking out the prop and I figured he was just gonna hit me with it, but he put it up like that and said his old GL had it.
