bprman333
I tried make my own cold air intake because if when a got one that didnt use most the stock tubing it wouldnt even start. So, I cut the screen off the front of the thing that holds the sensor and put a tube over it and then a cone filter. Sometimes if i really put the petal to the floor it will sputter and wont go above 1500 rpm. Did i ruin it? sugesstions please
Zues Marine
how did you get the cone to stay on the face of the maf sensor .. you should have used a MAF Sensor adapter.. its like $

ggreene
Fabricated hybrid intake, (1996 Legacy), - Option Racing short ram was hacked up for this project, picked it because it had three vacuum outlets, (just perfect). - 3" gradual curve, (w. 3" silicone couplers, - 3" to 2.75" at throttle body). - extends much further back toward firewall - Volume/velocity works well w. header, (no "one mod" will make much of a difference). - This set-up, (there is a write-up somewhere in NASIOC), works for me. 1. - MAF must be operational. 2. - All vacuum lines must be operational, (most especially the IAC, without this the engine will not run at all). 3. - Remember the "air-in - air out" principle - intake AND exhaust. 4. - Stock 7x11 panel filter will flow more air than I'll ever need, unless I somehow go over 250hp. (which is not likely), - (a good Denso unit works well). 5. - Reset ECU, have air/fuel mixture checked, and you're good to go, (of course results may vary) - I have a good working 4EAT, other mods, but these work together for much increased HP. - Lightweight BD body! - I surprise alot of people, esp. Hondas & newer Subarus.
