Boulderguy
This is probably bad... So I swapped out a CV axle up front, but it's developed a "clinking" sound. I put it up on stands & put the car in drive (auto trans, '05 OBXT) and all wheels spin EXCEPT the one with the new axle. WTH?!? The new axle appeared identical. Everything is fully inserted, bolted, clamped, etc. The wheel looks like it's trying to turn but won't. After a while it'll catch & spin slower than the other side but there's an obvious catching noise from the front diff, and that can't be good...Otherwise the wheel spins fine (meaning it's not locked), and spinning that wheel (with car in park) will also reverse spin the other side the way you'd expect it to. Oh, and top it off with a CEL & error code 55 on the odometer. Great. Probably from me cleaning the air filter last nite. Anyone know what code 55 is? Any ideas? Bbc84
well the front should have a open diff, so thats probualy why its a 3 wheel drive
underpowerd
SS is speed sensor. it probably just wants to let you know one wheel is not spinning could the brake be hanging it up?
ClimberDHexMods
well the front should have a open diff, so thats probualy why its a 3 wheel drive ding ding ding winner. notice the front wheel is spinning twice as fast as the back wheels. Looks like everything is working fine. If you give the stopped wheel a good shove, you might get the other front wheel to stop.
