A 2500 pound winch seems like a waste of time to me. You would have to use a snatch block every time you got stuck and it still may not have enough power. Also figure your cost of building a solid plate for your mounting point and fairlead. A hitch mount in back would be easiest except for running the wiring the length of the car and you could remove it when you didn't need it. But pulling in reverse isn't always ideal. Winch cables brake with a lot of force. I wouldn't trust anything not even rated the weight of my car.

Actually I do own a jeep with a warn m8000 on the front of it. That's where my winching experience comes from. I think a similar winch would look pretty badass on the front of a subaru but I don't take mine offroad. lol
