lieutenantcolumbo
jproy12, I have the same wheels and run 245/35/18 eagle f1 gsd3's. The 245/35 is the closest to stock size so the speedo is not off. Just wondering if your car is lowered at all, what type of shocks you're using, whether you had to get the fenders rolled, and if you have any rubbing. I like the idea of keeping the stock diameter, but I'm concerned about how wide they are. Thanks!
suds2250
I'm on JDM Spec B Bilstiens with prova springs. No rub, no roll. 335HP/360Tq VF-22/1820 clone with Meth
lieutenantcolumbo
I'm on JDM Spec B Bilstiens with prova springs. No rub, no roll. Thanks, I may go that route then. I'd like to get a dedicated set for summer fun and keep my stock rims for snow tires. That's got to be a blast to drive (unless it rains).
TSiWRX
I went with 225/40 on 18x8 but I'm starting to think 235/40 might have been a better choice. Just not much sidewall to protect my pretty Prodrives. Especially this time of year with potholes opening up like crazy. Overall diameter is less than stock Spec B. In reality 235 is not much bigger sidewalk than 225. Just drive slowly over the pot holes and you'll be fine ^ Yep, it's not that much more sidewall protection, but one thing I would have appreciated would be more rim protection, period. The 225s I have (and this will depend on the specific tire), Hankook RS-2s, seem to be stretched ever so slightly at that rim width. Don't get me wrong, I love the way it feels - if I even think about changing directions, the car does it. But rim damage does become a harsh reality (and it's why I bought my Prodrives second-hand, they were pre-rash'ed to minimize heartache! ). jproy12, I have the same wheels and run 245/35/18 eagle f1 gsd3's. The 245/35 is the closest to stock size so the speedo is not off. ^ This was my leading alternative sizing, but I was worried about increased carcass weight, as well as added expense. I also feared the extra width diluting some of that razor's edge response I'd been so used to (my previous set of summers was a 225-width, too). I think I'll go that route this time around, though. wpgspecb
Envoy moi un PM.. est-ce que tu es sur le club Subaru de Montreal ou d'Ottawa? Now would 235/40 rub on the perch of the strut? JP if you go +55 or less you will actually have MORE clearance around the strut than stock 235/40/18 on 18x7.5 wheels with +42 offset 2008 spec b rub on left rear with factory shock (40,000kms) no rub on right rear (new shock 5000km ago) my thread here http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/velox-javlin-j-2-18x7-135930.html

Bonafide P
why not 245/35/18? In not sure what would fit best. Would that work too? I'm trying to make it fit without rolling the fender or having rubbing issues. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your input. I posted here (4 years ago - wow time flies) about my experience with 235/40. Same offset. No rubbing on a slight drop (had to remove the rubber strip though).
