Driver72
Glad I could be of service. Question though, why didn't you go with the 18 x 7.5 like I have. they fill the wheel well better I think. And I can't tell, but it looks like the place that mounted the wheels used outside rim wheel weights. Did they ASK you before they did that? If there is outside wheel weights on, I'd go demand they take them off and balance the wheel with stick on wheel weights on the inside, and if the wheels are damaged from those ugly outside wheel weights, make them buy you new wheels!! SnarlyMarley
I went with the 17s for tire cost and because of the road quality here in CT. Whalen did these as a wheel and tire package with stick on weights. The only things on the outside of the rims are valve stems and tires. Maybe it looks like there is something there from compressing the pics to post? As for wheel well fitment I'd like to drop with pink springs once their price gets in line with WRX pink springs. SubiGT
Sorry to resurrect from the dead, but I have a ? about these wheels. Do you need a concentric ring with them due to the bore size being so much larger? I am looking to get a set, and want to do it right the first time. Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!
Scooter
Yep - at least it's highly recommended. I got mine (for my 17" RPM2's) from this eBay vendor: http://stores.ebay.com/Eurosport-Garage Just type in 'Subaru' and you should find the 56.1 x 73.1 hubrings. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. In other words: SEARCH before you post!
SnarlyMarley
I don't have them and have had no problems. They help for inital mounting but the lug nuts do the most work in terms of locating the wheels coaxially to the hub and axle.
rougeben83
if you torque the lugnuts carefully, the wheel will seat centered and you can run wheels without the ring; theyre primarily there to keep the wheel from vibrating too much at highway speed. I have rings in my set though, $10 is cheap insurance to keep them from vibrating I have the same set, bought used here on LGT. They're great wheels, tough too; I was stupid enough to rallycross mine
SubiGT
Thanks guys. I'll prolly pick up a set, and they will prolly just sit in my garage with everything else thats good to have:icon_mrgr But at least I'll have some. Wife really likes these wheels, green light has been given, let the spending begin. Any recommendations on 225/40-18 summer tires to run? I was thinking Yoko AVS ES100's.
