Juchau
All these cars look sick! I'm trying to get a rack on my 05 lgt wagon. I found these cross bars on ebay but they can't confirm they aren't for a outback. Does anyone know if these are the right ones? Also will they work with a Thule ski box? http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-09-SUBARU-LEGACY-CROSS-BARS-SET-OEM-/200666078711?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2eb8a15df7#ht_998wt_989

jproy12
Just got a Yakima rack, and was wondering where exactly it went, does anyone have the dimensions and where to put it? Maybe a reference on where it should go and the proper measurements. Thanks, JP

joeblow
Not to quote myself, but I have the install pdfs for the Yakima racks with Q78, but they exceed the forum attachment limit. Here are the important numbers for the Legacy sedan. Front rack- 41.5" between the clips, 6" from the corner of the windshield to the front of the clip Rear rack- 39.75" between the clips 30" from the center of the front clip to the center of the rear clip http://fitlookup.yakima.com/fitlookup.aspx It's cool; I'm with the band

Windy Road
My Thule setup. It needs a little adjustment but I got to take it off soon so I can wax the car for the winter. Figured while I was putting the rest of it on today I'd toss my board up on it and see how she looks. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6057/6332002549_6fee22309e_b.jpg 276hp/347tq On a DynoJet Dyno Video - Had a big lean spot as you can tell in the second pull

Deer Killer
Everyone with racks - would be great if you could post closeups of the feet. Seems like some of the feet don't fit very well. It seems hard to figure out which ones do, well without going out and buying them...

jcarver
Anybody had their yakima rack stolen? Hear they are much more prone to theft when compared to the thule rack. Just a matter of prying off with the yakima

Not sure how much of a difference it would make on the car, but having put my rack on recently, there isn't much tolerance in the measurements. Use this site to find all the distances; it's also got install pictures. http://infolookup.yakima.com/default.aspx Here are complete install instructions for Yak racks: http://assets.yakima.com/resource/product/q-towers/type/instructions
