tbssubaru
do you leave your ignition key inside the car? that's the only way your car is going anywhere
schwinn
^ What he said... The car has a factory ignition kill switch already, so if the thief was able to take your car anyway, I don't expect a second switch will help you any. You said "broken into"... but not taken... did the car get taken?
Black_Rain
Can someone please elaborate on the built-in security our cars have from the factory? The stock "kill switch"? I'm reading more and more on Nasioc about stolen subarus in my neck of the woods and I'm beginning to really think about installing a fuel cutoff and a high end security system. I just read a story today about an STI that was stolen, no keys in the car....which contradicts to what you guys are saying in this thread. laz
I think 2004 and older STi's did not have the chip on the key. All Legacy's from 2005 up have the chip. No chip, no go. Even if you make a copy of the key, if it is not programmed to the security system it will not turn on the car. Plus no one wants to steal a Camry! X ---
