Andrey
so I just got a 2000 forester l ej25 engine. It has a very loud knock, sort of tried listening to it but couldnt really figure out were it was coming from. So I decided to check if the spark plugs were good, i unscrewed them and it looks like there is oil coming out from where the gaskets are and oil on the spark plugs, the part thats screwed in. the head gaskets were just changes and the knock started right after they were changed. does any one have any idea what could be wrong with it? it runs but knocks and the oil issue
Platinum_Racing
Knocks? Hmmm... Piston slap? That would just be a coincidence with the whole head gaskets being replaced thing, but it's a possibility. How many miles are on this car? A video would be infinitely helpful. cman7
Sounds like the head gaskets were improperly installed to me. Have another mechanic look at it.
