Seat belts

Recommended Posts

So I read on here somewhere that there is some kind of seat belt warranty for our cars from the sealership. How does this work and who qualifies for it? Mine are frayed a ton and im not looking forward to $350 for a new one:mad:. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,

Subikid90

Safety regulations require all auto manufacturers to warranty seatbelts for life (although "life" may be defined as 15 years or something like that, I'm not sure). I brought my '98 to the stealership a couple months ago, showed them the frayed driver's seatbelt and had it replaced free of charge a few days later.

Contact Subaru of America and ask them what the official policy is, but I've seen tons of people post that they've had their seat belts replaced for free and I had one done a month or two ago.

I'd go to a different dealer, or go back to that one and ask to speak with someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
