subikid90
So I read on here somewhere that there is some kind of seat belt warranty for our cars from the sealership. How does this work and who qualifies for it? Mine are frayed a ton and im not looking forward to $350 for a new one:mad:. Anyone know anything about this?Thanks,Subikid90 -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
rmb2485
Safety regulations require all auto manufacturers to warranty seatbelts for life (although "life" may be defined as 15 years or something like that, I'm not sure). I brought my '98 to the stealership a couple months ago, showed them the frayed driver's seatbelt and had it replaced free of charge a few days later. subikid90
So I went to the stealership today and they told me Subaru doesn't have any kind of warranty on seat belts. They would not even take a look at them. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
rmb2485
Contact Subaru of America and ask them what the official policy is, but I've seen tons of people post that they've had their seat belts replaced for free and I had one done a month or two ago. I'd go to a different dealer, or go back to that one and ask to speak with someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

GNG_Kirby
Nice! Thanks for telling me this, mine are frayed as well. Free seat belts, works for me. Lol
subikid90
Make sure to call the dealer before you go because some dealers don't think there is a replacement. I tried fighting with a dealer and it took too long and wasn't worth it. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
GNG_Kirby
Will do. I got hook ups at my local Subaru dealership, so hopefully it won't be an issue. Lol
