I have pictures for you...but my camera is in my car. I took pictures of my brain and tomorrow I am going to try an trace the rest of the wire and ill post all of the pictures at once.

On my brain I have 2 wires, one red, one black, that goes into the brain for the chirper. I forget what pins they are in I will post the picture which show which colors go where.

Good call on the no homo

Okay I still haven't got around to tracing the whole wire but I did get a few more pictures of my brain and the wires coming out of it.

This is the back of my brain. The red wire (hot) for my alarm goes into pin 2 and ground goes into pin 16.

Red wire in pin 2

Hard to see but black wire in pin 16.

The black wire wrapped around the other wires is the chirper wire. I followed it up the dash as far as I could. I don't see any relay or anything.

The pictures I posted a while ago show the wire in the engine bay so now I need to pull the HVAC unit and look back there. I will try an do this today, I need to pull my radio anyways so it should be to big of a deal.

Hmm... That's strange. Because I put the hot for my universal horn to pin 2 and the ground for it to pin 16 and it didn't work. Next time your down there, can you get a pic like the second one in your last post, but of the other side of the 18 pin plug? Showing all the wires and their colors and where they go. You don't need to say what each pin color is, I can see it in the pic :)

I'm hoping using the second pic and the one I just asked for, I can see all the colors and where they go and maybe something different between ours will stand out at me, cause I'm running outta ideas why it didn't work.

We have the same brain, and yours is wired to the same pins I tried, and mine didn't work. Its looking like the only things left is there is either a relay, or my brain is just messed up in only the chirper pins... Lol

Now it is possible I messed them up. Cause the first time I tried hooking the horn up I had the power to pin 2, the ground to pin 16, AND had the horn grounded to the chassis as well. Then when it didn't work right, not thinking I switched and put the ground in pin 2, and the power in pin 16 and still had the horn grounded... It caused a major short, a nice little light show of sparks, and blew a few fuses... I don't remember which ones, but when I replaced them all the functions worked correctly, so Idk, but the pin 2 and 16 could be messed up from that.

I guess we will see if there is a relay and go from there.

I will get that picture for you. And I promise some time soon I will pull my HVAC unit and when I do ill follow the rest of the wire.

Maybe the Subaru brain only works with a Subaru horn? If I dont find anything like relays then this could be a possibility.

It is a Subaru horn. Lol when I got the car I bought new horns for it, and the one I'm trying to hook up is the stock one. If there is no relay, that means there must be some sort of relay or something in the chirper. Or my brain got messed up. Lol
