rainman
Hello! Name is Dustin. Just purchased an 05 GT 5MT to replace my honda that wasn't getting around so well in our current 35" of snow around. Have to share the car with the wife, so mods will be minor to none for now.Definitley gonna get an H.I.D. kit(prolly 55w 6K) and some mud flaps--->(suggestions to websites for each welcome). Eventually will look at some springs to get rid of the wheel gap some. Prolly only like a 1 inch drop or so. Want to maintain factory ride quality if possible. Thanks! No pics right now... -5 outside! I 5EAT Turkey Clubs
Regarding the mud flaps, if saving $50-70 isn't really an issue, people really enjoy the rally armor mud flaps. They are of great quality and of course can be found on rallyarmor.com. Someone is selling them in the 'members classified' section as well:http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128392I sure do love mine. P.S. buy all the (performance) mods you want just buy your wife an ipod or earplugs so she can drown out the exhaust...maybe a padded seat cushion if you go about tweaking your suspension

Well my name is Dustin Hoffman so rainman kinda fits... And I think I'd prefer the oem mudflaps. RA one's stick out too much to me... Car came with a momo steering wheel(don't know if thats stock or not) and momo short shifter and pedals and a Greddy exhaust. Want an intake sometime, but I thought I read how it requires a tune...Why is that?
Toneranger
Hey Dustin About the OEM mud flaps (or 'splash guards' as they call them)......they do pretty much nothing! I have a set on my car currently (had them put on when I bought the car new) - but on Monday I'm getting them taken off and a set of Rally Armor mud guards put on......I guess if you're installing them for looks then it's all good, but the OEM ones stop nothing from being thrown up by the tires, they're too short! I work in an industrial area where they put crazy amounts of road salt down when it snows. It makes me cringe as I drive up the road with the sound of the salt rocks getting caught in my tires then thrown at the rocker panels. I'm hoping the Rally Armors will cut it down by a lot. I also noticed in slush that the OEM flaps only really save the first 1/2 inch or so of paint behind the wheel, nothing is protected any further than that. If you think you want to go with the OEMs still, let me know - they'll be off my car Monday! Welcome to the forum!!! __________________________________ Steve C. 2009 Legacy 2.5i Wagon Touring Package Satin White Pearl
