IwannaSportSedan
This is just an idle excercise, since I don't yet have a Legacy. But I figure it is eye candy, and I have a few minutes to sit back and ponder... I have always like the BBS RGR, and the two peice RS-GT, but just recently became aware (despite Tire Rack's lack of suggestion) that the RS-GT will likely fit a legacy. I love the modest 2 peice look to this wheel. Not austentacious, just purposeful. I like the open-ness of the 8-pair pattern makes. (paralell adjacent spokes make a pair) I am leaning toward the Diamond black, but the silver keeps creeping back in. http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/bbs/swap/bbs_rs_gt_db_ci3_l.jpghttp://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/bbs/swap/bbs_rs_gt_ci3_l.jpg According to Wheelspecs.com, the RS-GT in 7.5 width (17" and 18" dia) and 5x100 bolt pattern comes with a 48mm backspace. This fits Keefe's FAQ information of what will fit the Legacy. The 18x8 - 5/100 fitment comes in a 40mm backspace, as well, but it is 2mm shy of Keefe's recommendation of at least 42mm in that width. Perhaps with coil-overs it would work, without hitting the spring perches. If the Legacy for 06 gets the STi bolt pattern of 5x114.3, then the 18x9 fitment might work, as well. I would use the 18x7.5 fitment, with Toyo Proxes T1S 225/40-ZR18 summer tires. (stock or other 17x7-7.5 for Vredestien Wintrac Extreme snow tires) The best part about the RS-GT is, that they are .5" wider than the 18x7 STi BBS mesh wheels from Japan, which are on the Legacy STi-parts showcars. Better for fitting a 225 width tire. Also IMHO, look slightly better than these BBS REs that come on the S203. The Legacy show car and S203 rim are below, respectively. STi BBS 18x7, 10 pairs of narrower spokes, 1 Piece forged. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v736/Ladzio/71103_02.jpg STi S203 BBS RE 18x7, maybe 7.5, Diamond Black, curved spokes, wide center, 1 peice forged. http://response.jp/issue/2004/1228/article66775_1.images/78596.jpg The nice thing about the S203 is that it's spare parts bin, via a japanese importer, can provide me with red on black STi center caps, STi branded lugs, and valve caps for the BBS rims. (perhaps a bit of STi overkill... but I want to build my own interpretation of an S403 Legacy anyway. Too bad those brakes are SOO expensive. probably 6-7k in wheels tires and brakes, total, but for the moment this is fantasy anyway.) Add this to the etherial tab of completely repainting a Legacy GT Limited in WR-Blue. I fell in love with that color after seeing a WRX STi at a Ford dealer, of all places. (parked in a cusomer stall, with registered plates, not for sale) I parked my bright blue 00 Ford Ranger 4x4 a couple spaces down. That Subie blue put my ranger's bright blue to shame, the STi being just a shade darker, but the pearl being finer than the metallic flake in my truck's paint. Plus it just shone from being impeccably clean. Drool-worthy. I'd also go with the K2 M5-look bumper, modest side sill kit, STi lip spoilers front and rear, angel eye headlights, Blue alcantara interior (like WR-limited/WRX-STi) and at least a stage 2 tune under the hood, upgraded full exhaust and turbo, etc. Quaife Front and Rear helical diffs, and a Cusco Tarmac Gear-Viscous center diff, or a re-geared STi 6MT. We're talkin' somewhere in the neighborhood of nearly doubling the cost of the car with all the markup of aftermarket parts, and importation costs. (A factory offering would be cheaper to buy, due to mass-production spread of costs, and less overseas shipping.) In reality, I will love having any Legacy GT with an MT I can get. Bench tuning is a favorite past time of mine, if it was hard to tell. Now to you... Feel free to react (keep in mind this is fantasy, so claims of "too expensive" are moot.) or do a little bench tuning of your own.
SUBE555
Oh I've been doing some bench tuning myself with some various ideas, part of why I'm getting a little cheap Civic for commuting, then it doesn't matter if the GT is apart for days, weeks, months. Hmm, would like to see pics of this K2 rear bumper. The BBS CH rims on the lower pic can be had for much less, though heavier, the Rota Formula Mesh is a take-off on it for $725 plus center caps and lugs in gold, steel grey, and silver. http://www.subydude.com/images/prod/products/Wheels/rota/formulamesh/200/200/18x8Formulamesh_gold_01.jpg http://www.subydude.com/images/prod/products/Wheels/rota/formulamesh/200/200/18x8Formulamesh_silver_01.jpg http://www.subydude.com/images/prod/products/Wheels/rota/formulamesh/200/200/18x8Formulamesh_steelgrey_01.jpg
illt3ck
A good friend of mine has those RGR's in diamond black on his silver Evo 8 and they look SWEET. I would kill to have the STi 203 wheels + brakes on my Atlantic Blue GT

GTCanada
I didn't think I was a mesh kind of guy but those Fikse wheels are niice. I like 'em. The RS-GT I like (Diamond Black on my silver GT). The BBS CH / Rota Mesh don't do it for me. The centre has a thick and heavy look. The BBS RKs look bland. Tom
Gohmer1
I'll take some Rota Formula Mesh in hyperblack 18" with STI center caps please. Probably not even possible, but that'd be neato!

jj808
Im sorry...This is way off topic: What the HELL is a "druther"?
IwannaSportSedan
"If I had my Druthers" is a colloquialism, or figure of speech that isn't anything literal, but means something akin to "If I had things my way,", or "If the world operated on my terms, *such and such* would happen." Druthers is operating as a proper name for a non-existant thing, akin to the fact that a "world operating on my terms" also does not exist.
