PSZCZ.lgt
just installed an invidia catless up pipe, reflashed my ecu to stage two this morning, went for a drive and my cruise control light started to blink i let the car sit and just took it out for a drive in the snow and again it started to blink with the check engine light, my accesport is saying o2 sensor, bank 1 ... did my o2 sensor break during the up pipe install or does it just need some time? dwolson2
No you need to diable that check engine light or put a 2.2k resistor in place of the up pipe sensor. The cruise will always blink when there is a check engine light. it doesn't want you to be able to drive normal day to day cause it thinks there is a problem. dwolson2
Which map are you using? I believe on cobb's website it says to put the resistor on their website
PSZCZ.lgt
i am running the stage two map, so in place of the oem 02 sensor, i need to put a resistor in place?

PSZCZ.lgt
u guys have any links where i can get one of those?
Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted December 6, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted December 6, 2009 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062344 Not sure if the wattage is correct but that's the right resistance
PSZCZ.lgt
ok thanks, so just replace the resisotor in the o2 sensor correct?
johnAWD
Wait - you don't have a front O2 sensor? You don't put a resistor in place of the O2 sensor - it's in place of the EGT probe.
Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted December 6, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted December 6, 2009 Yeah, for some reason i just though EGT probe. An O2 sensor is a different story
PSZCZ.lgt
so its not the up pipe where the problem is?
Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted December 6, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted December 6, 2009 The EGT probe measures exhaust gases post catalytic converter. If the CEL is for the O2 sensor, that's located in the exhaust manifold, not the uppipe. If the CEL was for the EGT probe you wouldn't be getting an O2 sensor CEL. ehsnils
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062344 Not sure if the wattage is correct but that's the right resistance Since the car is 12V maximum the power that can appear over a 2.2k resistor is at most 0.07W. And it's probably less. So a 0.25w resistor will do just fine.
nm
Uhm, the cobb map should suppress any codes from pulling the rear O2s and the uppipe. If that's the front O2, you actually have a problem.
PSZCZ.lgt
i just drove it today code came up again, code was P1153 bank1 sensor

johnAWD
If it were me, I would considered replacing the front O2 sensor. How many miles on the car, and have you ever burned leaded fuel?
PSZCZ.lgt
i have 57k on the car, the front 02 sensor is located in the exhaust manifold?
johnAWD
Yes, on the passenger side. Remove the plastic belly pan and you'll see it. It's item "E" in this image. http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/images/products/FRONTPIPE.jpg
PSZCZ.lgt
wow thanks for the diagram, thanks for you help, ill call fred beans tommorow to order the new 02 sensor
Rancid
That diagram is for the naturally aspirated engine exhaust. Your manifolds will look different.
PSZCZ.lgt
yeah i noticed that, i will check just to make sure the connection is good, but most likely this o2 broke somehow after i installed my catless up pipe
KRM
i just got a sti up pipe from a member here. and if the thats the resistor i need in post 8, thsts real cheap and easy. was getting worried if things werent getting so simple to modify...hahaha
Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted December 6, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted December 6, 2009 Yeah, that's the one. Couldn't be easier. Just make sure it makes a good connection then tape it up for extra security and voila, no CEL.
