Bottom oil seal blows out

Its a runabout 1996 twin turbo gt we use for general purpose in a rural area just crossing 200,000K which seems to be about half life. Not giving any trouble until blew a hole in the front bottom seal and leaked all over the ground and undersealed the car. Took the opportunity to replace the belts and tensioner and replaced the seal (done at a commercial garage). About 50Km later repeated the seal but this time popped it out. Garage at a loss to figure it out. They going to reduce the oil pressure as pump is running at 80psi so going to adjust the releif valve for 60psi. Anybody else got any ideas how its getting pressurised? In good going order. Doesn't smoke or burn oil. Always serviced new filter etc.

PCV valve stuck closed or clogged? If the crankcase is being pressurized then the crankcase ventilation isn't doing it's job. You can try removing the hose that runs from the PCV valve to the intake, plug up the hose leading to the intake and put a breather filter where the PCV valve goes if you want. It's all the same. Not sure where you live but some places consider that a form of emissions control, just so you know.

Thanks guys. Got the car back last night. They used loctite (industrial sealant) to hold the seal body in place and have reduced the oil pressure to 70 psi. I did some overtaking and got the revs up then parked it on dry ground overnight. Doesn't appear to be any oil leaks this morning. Guess time will tell. Next time it happens will check out the suggestions here. Thanks.

Did a few hundred K's on the flat with no apparent problem. Then took some friends up into the mountains using both turbos so it got real hot. When we stopped smoke came billowing from under the hood. I mean a lot of smoke! We could hear cracking noises which sounded like detonations. Smoke came through the aircon and into the cabin. Everyone grabbed their possessions and ran. Fortunately didn't catch fire. After it cooled down, took it back to service who said oil had pooled in the stoneguard tray and the extra hot exhaust had evaporated it. Seems when it dumped the oil the first time, it was travelling at speed and the oil drained backwards along the underside of the car, all the way and up the rear bumper. It got into the chassis including up into a drain hole in a rail then on the mountain trip came back out on the steep hill inclines and dripped into the stone guard where it pooled near the exhaust. They steam cleaned it again but think there is more to come out so have removed the stone guard so it will drop down onto the road rather than pooling near the exhaust.

Talk about scary after seeing a few Subarus on fire on Youtube!

Good news was no more fresh oil leaks.

Am going back into the hills tonight so should be interesting.
