tedsan126
I have a 95 legacy ej22. And i was wondering if the ej25d would be a direct plug in
Platinum_Racing
EJ25D is a direct bolt-in, but not a direct plug in. You will need the EJ25D ECU. The EJ25D exhibits leaking head gaskets and a power band higher in the RPM range than the EJ22. A swap wouldn't be worth it performance wise. You might get more horsepower, but when the head gaskets starts leaking you'll wish you kept the EJ22.
tedsan126
so would it be more worth it to keep the ej22 and do the head swap like i was talking about before? And if yes how am i going to go about it
Platinum_Racing
Buy the heads, bolt them on, use new EJ22 head gaskets, and get a new EJ25 DOHC timing belt. Throw it all together, wire it up, and hope it works.
