My next project car...

Recommended Posts

When my finances permit, I will be building myself one of these. So amazing.

I will opt for the Turbo Suzuki Hayabusa engine model...

0-60 - 3.4 seconds

¼ mile - 11.0@130mph

Thats with the Driver, a passenger and half a tank of fuel... on street tires!!

My friends father back in Australia builds turbo Busa's and would happily build me an engine with more power then what they use :D

Speaking of Elises, I drove up next to one in my area the other day.

In the Best Buy parking lot.

Blue with twin orange stripes down the middle.

I think if I was going to get that little Mini, i'd build the

standard Busa engined one.

Though the turbo version would be nice...maintainence would

not only be expensive, but A LOT more often.

And with a 0-60 of 4.25 seconds for the standard Busa engine,

it would still be VERY fast in that little car and parts (and possibly service) for the

engine are at the local Suzuki dealer.

Wow, I love mini's I have never seen those before.

I would be almost frightened of driving one of those.

Reminds me a lot of the Caterham Super 7's, then run the 0-60 in that range.

and being 6-7 I dont think I would fit...damn

My grandfather had a friend who was 6'6" and drove a mini back in the UK. They are suprisingly roomy once you squeese through the door :)

Noble M14, or TVR (Anything TVR), Ginetta, Gardner-douglas Lola T70 replica, lotus/caterham replicas, The Ariel Atom, Gordon Murray's Rocket, and probably lots of others.

The british cottage car industry is rife with spectacular options for light weight high-specific output sports and racing cars. I wish more of them were easier to come by in the US.

Actually turbo Busa motors can be quite reliable. A friend who has a motorcycle dyno shop specializes in Busa stuff and has built several that are running around Phoenix as daily drivers w/ over 300 hp...

Yeah but probably ON a 450 pound Busa, not a car that weighs probably

2.5-3 times as much and with other modifications (I'm sure) done to

fit the car.

Forced Induction on high revving, high compression, small motors like

that put SO MUCH stress on them.

Add the extra weight of the car over the bike...and I think I'd just

stick to the NA Busa engine for longer reliability and less maintainence costs.

If and when I get around to building this car it wont be driven much, it will be a weekend warrior. I know the reliability wont be at the best, however, I dont expect it too. I will have my friends father build me one of his engines like I mensioned. Stroker to 1500cc and turbocharged. He has fitted these engines to other things back in Australia from custom built trikes and ATV's. The engines are strong, produce heaps of low end so they dont need to be revved really high. It will suit my needs. Same as any other car, rebuild your Legacy, bolt on a GT35R running high boost and things will brake, car wont be as reliable. Thats the catch to any highly modified machine. 650kg = around 1400lbs...
