JSK05LGT
Changed my battery today from the original OEM to an Optima Yellow top (left my interior lights on by accident over night and battery died) and upon starting the car I got the CEL (P0103) which is the High Voltage MAF code. Tried re-flash, tried ecu reset, code persists. Before everyone starts asking, the battery was installed properly, no touching connections etc. Simple swap and go, car fired right up no problem, but it appears to have shorted the MAF sensor some how... Any thoughts, or was it just time to finally have something fail after 107K miles?
Max Capacity
IMO just bad luck, nothing to do with the battery. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. GTTuner
Watch out for the wires where they enter the plug at the MAF, sometimes because of the wires bending the conductor inside the wire breaks. A circuit high code is just that, voltage is high most likely due to an open circuit.
JSK05LGT
I will take a look at that, the funny thing is, prior to changing the battery, the MAF had not been touched in months! I guess next thing to replace in the event the new sensor doesnt work (comes in tomorrow) is to try and replace the wiring running to the MAF sensor. ClimberDHexMods
Well the battery and MAF are on opposite sides of the car... JSK05LGT
My thought exactly, the more I think about it, the more it is just a coincidence. Just an odd one considering the MAF sensor seems to be a rare part to fail.

But when doing things like installing a battery, that truly IS rare. Maybe there was a surge? How did you connect your battery? Negative first then Positive? JSK05LGT
Nope, Positive first then Negative. Perhaps it was the intake modification. Regardless, replaced the MAF Sensor today and reset the code and all is well. Now time to install the new GrimmSpeed TGV Deletes and retune!
