Brembo advice

Recommended Posts

Yes sir, on the stock calipers. Dont get me wrong, I love my Brembo setup, but for a street driven LGT, there really is no need for the change. If you plan to AutoX or run on a Track I would recommend the Brembos, otherwise, get a grippy set of pads, stailness lines for the feel and the fluid for good measure and I think you will be happy.

As others have said, start with better pads first... it makes for a huge difference. SS lines might be another improvement, though I don't seem to notice/need it on my car. From what I've read, there is a big variability in expectations or pedal-performance from people's cars... but the bottom line is that you should not need a bigger caliper or rotor set...

ive been thinking about the wilwood front set:

cheaper alternative with cheaper pads

This would be a great alternative (especially since they sell on ebay for about half that price) but they don't make a rear set to my knowledge, which is disappointing.

This set comes with front AND rear big brakes, stainless steel lines, and rotors. This bolts right up.

I consider Stoptechs better in quality versus Brembo, but to each their own as they say.

And for big brake kits, especially Brembos, get that wallet ready. They are costly!

I was looking into these as well as I had good luck with them in the past... after reading a bunch of reviews by users on non Suby forums general consensus seemed to be that they were more a track brake and not suited for daily driving. Not sure how that would make a diff but it had people selling them.

NASIOC has a brembo thread where they rank our legacy 2 pots just below Brembo and better than WRX 4pots. if that helps.
