FrozenNorthLGT
OK, OK ... someone has to indulge you: HPH Well I can't find mwiener's thread at the moment, but I'm sure he will supply a link sooner or later. He made a plug/plate that blocks the hood scoop from underneath. Why? Beacuse he has a front mount now instead of the TMIC and he wanted his car to keep warmer longer when parked. DrCloud
OK, with a front-mounted intercooler, the scoop isn't needed for its ventilation, but the scoop still circulates ambient -- therefore cooler -- air through the engine compartment, helping the overall temperature in there, right? (Aside from issues with occasional blizzards, of course.) Is there an improvement in aerodynamics that makes the plug useful? Is it just aesthetic? Are you trying to keep soap out, too (not because of the intercooler, of course, but we all know that soap is at the root of the head gasket problem...)? Inquiring minds want to know.
