2000_LegacyOutback
i was thinking about doing that on mine but i looked under the rear bumper and theres a black box where the other muffler would go, what is that box for? i can get pictures if necessary
MRLancaster
Wow dual actually looks good! Not a fan of dual on older cars, but that looks legit! As for the box...went through my service manual.....this is the closest thing I could find. Ive wondered what that box was for too. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k115/T-Ho_man/bh.png But It doesnt look like the little box. :/
2000_LegacyOutback
Hmm Idk but I want duals!!!
BrandonJ 2001 GT Limited
The black box seems to be over to the right far enough on mine to clear a muffler if I would add another one. My plan is to run a split straight pipe with a welded on flange to bolt up to the existing flange @ the axle. Then end it with resonated tips. See how that sounds. I dont care about "loud", however I dont want too high of a raspy pitch. So I'll tweak as needed if I end up sounding like a honda/fart cannon, but from what I've heard on youtube, it's hard to not get a rumble even with pipe only, so I may be ok. BUT....I also got an offer over on IIC to pick up a FXT/STI catback exhaust from an 04 FXT for free. I looked on youtube and it does sound like there's a considerable tone difference between a stock 2.5i catback and the STI catback on the same NA car. But I'd still love the look of the duals. kalins1
This is my '03 Baja with a Flowmaster Delta 44 with single in and dual outlets. They custom bent the pipes to each corner and ran the right pipe in such a way that it doesn't come close to that black box which we were assuming was the fuel vapor canister. I also installed resonator tips. Hopefully, I'll get a sound clip this week. It really sounds like a boxer should. http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/kalins1/189064_1729229907667_1146042428_31742778_392240_n.jpg
