Xenonk
yea, I have R-compound Dunlop Super Sport Race Tires on them (225/45/17). 60 Treadwear and worth every penny as they are said to last well over 10,000 miles.. not bad for $119 each for soo much performance. mmm def
Hi Keefe, Do you still have the SSR's? If you are interested in selling, how much? Thanks, Dave
Xenonk
I still have my SSRs as I am using them this year for STU class, and and most likely I am not going to sell them (as I happen to like running on 7.5" wide instead of 8"). Sorry. I had it on my for-sale list for a while for $1700 with the Azenis on them... but no one cared for it. Keefe Keefe

Xenonk
You mean the centercaps? I am interested in it for $10+shipping if you still have them.. man your CL looked nice, 18" GL 57Pros for yours?? Keefe Keefe
VXCL
they were actually 17x7s. i was talking about the rays protective covers that come with the rims when you buy them new. i knew you have a crapload of rims always so maybe you wanted the rays covers to help protect them. i don't really know if they;re worth anything or not. i saw some people trying to sell them on ebay for like $50 so i figured i should try to get a few $$ instead of throwing them out. they say rays foundry on them and have elastic or whatever to help them stay snug on the rim. they only work if the rim has no tire on it but im sure you know that already. http://i8.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/4a/44/44_1_b.JPG ill never forget that day they finally came. i would have never thought thsoe centercaps cost $40 a pop! but had to have them along with the rays lugs. i need to start saving to get some 18" volks for the leggy. im thinking theses maybe. http://www.forperformance.com/rays/wheels/gtv/gtvstock_l.jpg MAYHEM #122/22 STS NNJR SCCA AUTOX4U.COM XENON RETRO GUIDE
Xenonk
Doh, I was hoping that you had the centercaps. Actually I have tire carry bags for my rims and such: http://www.soloperformance.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=22&productID=238&selection=17 http://www.soloperformance.com/ProductImages//md/lrg_seasonal.jpg Thanks though! But let me know if you have some remaining GL centercaps or something laying around. Keefe Keefe

Bretm1
yea, I have R-compound Dunlop Super Sport Race Tires on them (225/45/17). 60 Treadwear and worth every penny as they are said to last well over 10,000 miles.. not bad for $119 each for soo much performance. Keefe From Another Thread: Best off to get a 7.5" wide rim and 225/45/17s (+40mm to +54mm). Stock GT wheels (7" wide) can put on some 225/45/17s (that's what I run on my GT right now for autox school days and stock class Solo2 racing). 7" feels a little sloppy on the 225/45/17 sidewalls if the tires are not at autox pressures, so a 7.5" wide with a 225/45/17 is more ideal. If you want, a 8" wide rim with a +48mm offset can handle a 245/40/17.. that's plenty of rubber of you then and no rubbing issues either. Keefe Keefe-Not at all to question your decision-but it seems like you may have had a change of heart on running 225/45 17's on 7 inch rims. Prior to this you said it was ok. but it was a little sloppy on the sidewalls Only reason I ask is because if your cool with it i'm cool (given proper inflation etc) I'm itching to put a set of different tires (225/45/17)on my stock rims/stock suspension and this will help me along. If it depends on the type of tire-I was thinking dunlop sp 9000 z rated Thanks-Bret This is not my beautiful car.
Xenonk
For stock class racing in Solo2, this is ok.. I got these rims because these were lighter than stock.. I dont use these tires really much for competition, only for track practice days and misc. autox events that are just there for seat time. I have plenty of other 17x7.5 rims at home that I use with 225/45/17. Again, it IS best off to run 17x7.5 with a 225/45/17. It's very rare to find a 205/45/17 anyways. I dont mind the sloppiness from the 7" rim on a 225/45/17, but since I burn through tires faster than 90% people here, I could care less about sloppiness when it comes to just practice driving for autox. I suggest 7.5" wide if one is going to go with aftermarket rims. If you just want to replace stock tires, 225/45/17 is fine, just make sure you pump up the pressures just a 2psi or so to keep the sidewalls from rolling over while driving.. also check for tire wear differences if you plan to run higher or lower pressures than what I suggest as tire pressures also change the way a tire wears. No change of heart here. I still practice what I preach as I have a set of: 17x7.5 5Zigen Heidfeld rims + 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sports A/S (winter season) 17x7.5 SSR Comp rims + 225/45/17 Falken Azenis RT-215s (summer, autox competition) 18x7.5 R1 GTR9 rims + 225/40/18 Yokohama Advan A048 (summer, track events) the odd ball rims are/were: 17x7 OEM GT rims + 225/45/17 Dunlop Super Sport Race (autox schools) 17x7 Gram Lights 57Pro rims + 225/45/17 Dunlop Super Sport Race (autox schools) 17x8 Privat Farhens rims + 225/45/17 Falken Azenis RT-215 (autox competition) 18x8 SSR GT7 rims + 255/35/18 Toyo T1-S (summer daily driving) There will be a set of 225/40/18 and 225/45/17 Falken Azenis RT-615s in the future as well on my 7.5" wide rims. Xenonk
15.5 ish lbs .. daaaaam any chance gram warrentys their wheels like OZ? Not that I know of.. Gram Lights are Volk Wheels anyways.. The Gram Lights 57Pro are two piece cast, and sometimes if the vendor in the USA cant source them in the USA, then it will take about 3 months to get them from Japan (I dont know why it takes soo long, but that's the typical wait for Volk rims from Japan). I can put them on today for pics if you like. But the Heidfelds I have are the 1st generation one, not the current version one. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5930 #4 post is the where the pics are located for the difference. I still need to take pics of all of my wheels on a good day.. this week has some nasty rain coming along.. I will post ALL of my pics of all of the rims I had in one post in the future. Just let me know if you REALLY want to see a pic of the Heidfelds that I have as I am too lazy to swap on my winter tires for just pics when I have a lot of race days coming up. Swapping 4 times a week can get annoying, especially when I have other stuff to do If you can wait,a week or so, then I'll put them on for ya and take some pics. I wouldnt spend that much on 57Pro for a 2-piece cast wheel, that's why I found mine for used for 1/4th the price and WITH tires Keefe Keefe
