Kipper
My subaru has alot of miles, I noticed alot of oil undernieth the car near the oil pan. I It seams to be a slow leak and I am not really sure where it is comming from because there is oil everywhere (But its not gushing out.) What seals should I replace? How much work is involved? Is it worth doing anything to a car that has over 270K??
jah77clash
determine if its from the cam seals or head gaskets. $700 - $1300 depending. what year and model is your car?
Platinum_Racing
Year, make, model, trim level, and engine. It's obvious it's a Subaru Legacy, and judging by the mileage it's probable a 1990-94 EJ22 powered Legacy. If you remove the timing belt to get at the cam seals, you might as well replace the water pump and timing belt while you're at it. Your best bet would be an oilpan leak.\ If you did oil changes without replacing the crush washer on the EJ22 2.2L engine it will drip oil and make a mess, which is no big deal at all.
