1995 AWD or Not

Hi,

I recently bought a 1995 Legacy L and I wanted to make sure what I was told I bought is what I really bought. I've tried looking up the vin but can't find anything that is specific about the 1995 vins. Anyone think they could help me out?

Thanks,

Keith

Check the underneath in the back, does it have a rear differential? A driveshaft going to the back? If so, then it's AWD. Also, 95's have a sticker that say ABS AWD on the rear window. Could have been removed, but that's another way to tell.

Sticker or not, only an AWD (Subaru) car will have a rear differential. If you look under the car from the back you'll see a the box that is the diff with an axle to each wheel.

Allow me to correct myself, Every Subaru has 4WD at those later years. Here check these..though it is reveiws, notice that every bodys car had 4WD and they were all 95's

95 and 96 were available with FWD. Luckily enough for you OP, you weren't one of those!
