aigochamaloh
I posted this in the offset sticky above before I purchased the wheels. They were too cheap to pass up at the moment, and I can send them on if they won't work for me. I only wanted an extra set of wheels for tires that would be used on the track. So in no way will I be using these wheel for daily driving, where potholes and etc could hurt. OEM wheel 225/45/17 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb227/aigochamaloh/Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_7663.jpg Wheel in question 225/45/17 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb227/aigochamaloh/Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_7664.jpg This is the amount of travel I have between the tire and fender. I think I'll hit the bump stop way before the tire hits the fender, but I'm not sure. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb227/aigochamaloh/Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_7667.jpg How much it sticks out http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb227/aigochamaloh/Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_7670.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb227/aigochamaloh/Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_7672.jpg Does anyone forsee problems of running this setup solely on getting me to the track and at the track? There aren't potholes and crazy deviations in road surface at the track and I hope it'll do. Advice is very appreciated.
aigochamaloh
On a side note, anyone know what wheels those are? They look like Enkei RPF1 knockoffs with 5x100 and 4x100 fitment. Stamped on the back: Made in England
FrozenNorthLGT
Same size/offset here. It's been that way all summer (about 11,xxx miles) no issues yet. Other than a little outer edge cupping. It doesnt get much worse than the roads up here either... http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110076
SnowBound BP5
First of all, that's a crazy offset for a 17x7 wheel! I've seen several pics of 18x8.5 and 18x9 +35 and none of them stick out like that. Could it be because your car's not lowered? Btw, is the back flush? Those are red Ralliteks on USDM spec.B Bilsteins, so overall, the front height about the same as stock 2.5i height. The rears dropped, I didn't try fitment in the rear. They didn't come with hubcentric rings so I'm going to go and get some conical lug nuts to center the wheel against the hub/rotor. Same size/offset here. Thanks for the input! Looking at your pictures, your tires don't stick out as much as mine do. Wonder why that is.
Xenonk
dial in the maximum negative camber up front for your car (-1.0 should be it).. you should be able to clear unless you use an r-compound tire which are normally wider than most all-season and some summer tires. FrozenNorthLGT
Could be because all 225/45's arent created equal...at least I think I read that somewhere. Or could be these rims are a +38, not a +35....starting to second guess that now...lol. Ill have one off tomorrow so I'll try to remember to look. I'm not saying that having them on for 11,xxx miles hasn't caused/sped up any problems/damage, but none that I've really noticed yet. It's kinda hard to say since I know I need new struts as it is. aigochamaloh
I wonder if I can shave some material off the mounting surface, looks like there's a lot there. Even 3mm might help. I'm going to ask my alignment guy tomorrow and if it's not good, I'll just sell the wheels.
