tedsan126
I instanlled a custom cold air intake system, did a full cat back custom exhaust job and I was wondering if investing in a good pair of headers would give me more power. legacy 2.2l
Platinum_Racing
Won't do anything if you're using the stock cat. An exhaust is all sound and tone unless it's all custom. If any stock parts remain then they will restrict airflow, especially the cat. When it comes to restricting airflow, the cat is the worst. The CAI won't really add HP, rather it will move peak HP and torque up a bit on the RPM curve, not much though. Overall, with a complete header back exhaust and a CAI, maybe a 5 HP gain at 500 RPM higher than stock.
tedsan126
its not the stock cat its all custom, bigger diameter stainless pipe and everything.
Platinum_Racing
Ok, so 5 HP taking both the exhaust and intake into consideration. Maybe 8 HP max.

BrooklynBoy
Just have to ask this question 'cuz it appears pertinent to topic.......so how come SOA claims a 30hp gain with their PowerPack (SPT cold air intake+catback exhaust) ??? Is that just false advertising or is there SOME truth to their claim? Do it right the first time.........or don't bother doing it at all.
