teducci
My 2008 2.5i legacy did not come equipped w/ fog lights. Has anyone installed any other fog lights (aftermarket fog lights) in the foglighs designated spot or anywhere else for that matter? Any pics would be appreciated. aldouse
i have. sorry i failed to take pictures of them.. the fogs were just held in w/ double sided tape since i couldn't make up my mind on finalizing the install or not. needless to say.. a few hours driving later on dirt roads = cracked lenses on both fogs... that was the end of the aftermarket fogs. it works though... aiming the fogs was just a PITA. if i was to try and remount the fogs, i'd look into the license plate mounted ones. -- yay for the sig! -- my garage! CDN 2.5i
I investigated a number of options but decided to just go with OE... everything is ready to just plug and play, wiring etc. If you want to save money, wait for a used set but don't forget you'll need the foglight turn signal stalk. If the OE lamps aren't bright enough, you can use a higher wattage H3 bulb such as an 80 watt or even 100 watt, but the latter may be risky for heat output. Alternatively, you can mount HIDs in the foglight housings as I and others have done...
teducci
where do you buy HID fog lights? If you have a link, I would appreciate it.
CDN 2.5i
H3 HID kit for the OE foglights... the OE foglights use an H3 bulb, so if you buy an HID kit for an H3 fitment, you can put them in the factory foglight housing

CDN 2.5i
The stock fogs are a projector lens afaik - there's a frosted globe inside the clear cover.
katalyst
you will still need the foglight covers though to mount them into the bumper even if you go aftermarket
Whatisit
The stock fogs are a projector lens afaik - there's a frosted globe inside the clear cover. 08+ arent projectors. and 08+ OEM fogs are really poorly designed. aftermarket is the way to go IMO. Yeap my 09 legacy OEM fogs are pointless. At night, with the headlights on, it makes no difference with the fogs on or off..I had to go look to make sure they even worked. So can anyone reccomend a good aftermarket projector?
GraysonSubaru
bump for this thread. I wish I could find a set of fogs like they offer on the WRX's...bigger JDM versions. I will likely do a different grille and do an install behind them as I did in my 2008 WRX, but would also like some more conventional located fogs. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff286/chubert1/lights5.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff286/chubert1/lights4.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff286/chubert1/lights3.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff286/chubert1/IMG_9174.jpg
