fonts
Leave the belts tight. Buddy held the pulley from the belt on each side and I hit it with an impact. Piece of cake..... with an impact.

GTTuner
If you don't plan on ever re using the OE pulley just use a large pipe wrench and grab the outer lip with it.
korpsepatrol
Leave the belts tight. Thats how we did it on mine. Leave the belts tight loosen it up. Then do the crank pulley if you are installing that one as well. 2008 6mt Legacy Gt Spec B DGM - Not so Stock/Work in progress 2006 5mt Legacy Gt OBP - Sold 2005 5eat Legacy Gt OBP - RIP R.I.P Coxx

How tight was that crank pulley bolt???, wasn't that fun? There is no way you'll break that crank bolt loose by holding the belts tight without some bloody knuckles. Bdubs
Jesus, I had to take a 12" breaker bar with a 2 ft pipe all while I have my TC jammed up with a big flippin screwdriver. And that crank bolt still took some convincing.
