Cleaner edges-and rounded in some areas. Made with Lexan ( highly durable polycarbonate resin thermoplastic intended to replace traditional glass and Plexiglas where the need for strength and impact resistance justifies its higher cost) and machine cut to precise measurements so that larger rimmed gauges will fit and cubby door will still close. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/nyrm98/DSC04561.jpg I was a man on a mission and here it is. Stealth center storage pods that also fit large rimed gauges, and the door will still close! Fits two 52mm gauges. The Interceptor scan gauge in the picture is what I built this around-just so that if you do have a larger rimed gauge, it should fit. Pics below are of the final "test version". Completed version will look much better. Installation instructions included with pictures-I also tried to make this affordable-$40 shipped. If you are interested PM me. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/nyrm98/DSC04550.jpg?t=1241562746 http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/nyrm98/DSC04551.jpg?t=1241563457 http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/nyrm98/DSC04553.jpg?t=1241564064 http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/nyrm98/DSC04559.jpg?t=1241564597 http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/nyrm98/DSC04554.jpg?t=1241564850

Yes-regular gauges will also fit-it's just an added bonus to have larger rimmed gauges fit.

ShadowImg
The original cubbypod had little tabs on the bottom front which sat in the holes in the cubby to make it stable. How is this one being held in place?
nyrm98
The original cubbypod had little tabs on the bottom front which sat in the holes in the cubby to make it stable. How is this one being held in place? This is held in place with the front lip which goes under the trim just above the clock display and there are two tabs on the cubby itself that pushes the pod forward. So the cubby itself holds it in when it is put back together. It is solid too, believe me, I have about 25 mock up designs sitting in a pile that didn't work quite right. I must have about 50+ man hours in R&D on this. It would not be that big of deal if I were not trying to get larger rimmed gauges to fit.

I can understand that-cause so am I:rolleyes:, but I would never try to sell something that I would not want in my own car.
