Good Job! I've just dremelled out my cubby for my gauges and cut a cardboard template. VERY tight squeeze, definately a good call on the quality/thickness of the backing plate as there is not a lot of room on the vertical edges of the holes for the gauges. I was a little nervous cutting up my cubby as i didn't know how far back to cut in order for the gauges to squeeze in there. I'll post some pics when she's all said and done.

any one know how to tap the dimmer switch for the gauges, so when you turn ur dimmer switch down or up it controls everything including your aftermarket gauges? anyone know what color wire it is. I could only guess there are 2 or 3 wires behind that switch but which one is it.

Wrong. There are 6 wires back there for the dimmer switch. 1 for ground, 1 for illuminating the switch, and the remaining 4 is Subaru's last laugh. There is plenty of talk on these forums about how FHI has come up with a "backwards" manner of wiring the dimmer.

I've ran a couple of resistance tests on the dimmer switch to try to figure out which wires to tap to do the same thing as you desire to and to no avail.

A pulse width modulator, don't pay anymore than $20 for this considering it costs about $1 worth of parts plus the plastic clamshell to make.
