RedDawg
I put an L7 overlay on my rear badge last weekend, really like how it looks but being OCD about my car i'm not 100% happy with how the edges overlap onto the chrome part of the badge. I did my best to trim it up with a razor blade but one edge is already starting to peel up, i'll need to spray it with some 3M glue this weekend. I was wondering if anyone has taken the badge off, popped out the center and placed the overlay on that, wrapping the edges around the back of it and then placing it back into the chrome surround ring. I may order another overlay and try this, i think i might provide a cleaner look and help prevent the edges from lifting up.

DarkOblivion000
I have an L7 overlay, but waiting for another piece to get here to put it on. Mine is for the rear emblem though. I have no plans to take the emblem off in order to do the overlay... but I guess if it becomes necessary I will think about it. Keep us posted. DarkOblivion000
I think I will be applying my L7 overlay and taillight tints today. Will let you know how it goes.
RedDawg
i think i know why mine didn't fit correctly when i did it. I'm pretty sure i ordered the front overlay instead of the rear one, i didnt realize there were two different overlays, that's probably why i had to trim mine. I touched it up with some superglue and it looks great until you get within 5' then you can see some wrinkles. I still think i'm going to order another one + a new emblem and try wrapping it. DarkOblivion000
Yes, that's what I was about to say. I just installed my overlays as well as my taillight tints, and it fit pretty perfectly. I kinda screwed it up; it's shifted a little bit to the right but barely noticeable. Here are pics: http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/Darkoblivion000/IMG_0646.jpg http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/Darkoblivion000/IMG_0647.jpg I suck balls at taking pictures but as you can see the edge of the emblem barely reaches the chrome outline of the original emblem. :spin:I can't believe you superglued it. How are you gonna get it off and replace it with the emblem you should have used in the first place????
DarkOblivion000
The pics make the emblem look jagged on the edges but its not; that's the reflection of trees and random stuff on the chrome outline.
RedDawg
yea i mustve ordered the wrong one, i'm not too worried about the superglue as i have not intention of ever going back to the stars. if i have to i'll just lightly sand off any leftover glue when i re-order the correct overlay. Here's some pics i took of mine, you can definetly see that it's oversized. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/RedDawg55/Legacy%20GT/my%20car/IMG_2169.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/RedDawg55/Legacy%20GT/my%20car/IMG_2170.jpg
firepyro515
Thats how my rear emblem looked when i used the overlays, i even had to send him the exact dimensions for the front and back (since i think i was one of the first '08 legacys to order) . The front looked good, but the back still overlapped on the sides. Other than that, i was happy with the way everything turned out

Jazer
BUMP - Does anyone know if the (2006) Outback has the same size emblem in the rear as the same year Legacy? I really like the "L7" logo and since an OB is virtually a Legacy, I'd like to get one. It appears I can only order one listed under Legacy though so I just want to check to make sure they're the same size. Only XT/STI available under the Outback... and I have a 2.5i soo, no, lol.
