speddmn
could, alternatively, remove the DS tape and use some 3m Spray ahhesive or something along those lines? Gorilla Glue?
Drew888
I did dry fit them and they are perfect. I'll stick to the tape that came with it hoping that Prova knows what they are doing. BAC5.2
That's terrible. I think we will all survive no updates until you get things straightened out. My best to your family. Mark34
My Prova Type A-C mirrors arrived today from JapanParts. I test fitted them and they fit the '05-'07 mirrors perfectly! I didn't install them though because it was too cold out (stupid global warming). I usually try to install things with double sided tape when it's warmer than 60 deg F out to make sure it adheres properly. Also got some Grandpa's Eye Kit. I did install them. I think it adds a nice touch of color to the outside and they're easy to install.
Drew888
Thanks Mark... funny thing, as long as it isn't mentioned it's like another day. someone mentions it and it hits like a freight train all over again. Time heals all... Looking good! I thought I'd hit both with a hair dryer first as I to thought it would stick better when very warm...not just room temp (here in SoCal it's 74*). The glass is slightly curved and too much pressure in the middle it will crack. Be careful... Mark34
I just slapped mine on like an hour ago. I don't think there is anyway these things are moving. Just slight contact with the mirror and they were attached. I'm still trying to figure out if they are truly a wide angle or if it's my mind playing tricks on me. I was trying to compare them to my buddy's VW that he put the Eurospec mirrors on. Those ones are flat for 3/4s and then go very convex for the last 1/4. These mirrors are curved the whole part. Mark34
I installed mine yesterday. I think they definitely provided some more mirror in the blind spots and definitely helped reduce glare. Unfortunately, when I went outside today, my driver's side mirror was cracked! So I don't know what to do now. I'm going to contact Graham at JapanParts and see if he can help me out. Doesn't look like any impact damage so I'm guessing it had to be a thermal cycling problem which implies manufacturer defect.

Drew888
ok guys...I'm going to put mine on this afternoon after church.... So any install advice? Alcohol wipe, heat up with a dryer, pulll the mirror away from the car to get better access, then barely press it on. Did I miss anything...very nervous. I don't want mine to crack. Mark34
The only advice I would give is to make sure you have them lined up perfectly before you stick it on. They were stuck on even with slight contact. I don't think you will need to heat anything up.

Mark34
Thanks. I appreciate the help. The thermal cycling idea popped into my head because I can't find any impact damage that could have caused it. I'm going to try and get the driver's one off today. Drew888
Mark, I finally installed mine and noticed that the passenger side fit the glass well but the Drivers side does not. I'm guessing the JDM passenger (opposite) side mirror isn't flat. The adhesive pad did not stick to the glass nearly as well as the passenger side. So I can see how some crack it during install. I'm sure I can go to the car now, after a couple hours after the install, and still pull it off. There is no way the passenger side is going anywhere. Let's see how long it stays on there. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/Drew_Jones/08%20LGT%20Spec-B/P4260030.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/Drew_Jones/08%20LGT%20Spec-B/P4260023.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/Drew_Jones/08%20LGT%20Spec-B/P4260026.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/Drew_Jones/08%20LGT%20Spec-B/P4260025.jpg [URL="http://legacygt.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=1586"VbGallery/URL]
Drew888
Ok, few more thoughts on these. A little more blue than anything oem from any manufacturer. Saw a BMW with blue glass and a MB with oem blue tint to all their windows. I am now noticing it more, even on VW's. The blue tint works very well at cutting down glare. Only realized how really good it is last night after working late. I have a long commute and really get pissed at people that have maladjusted headlights. Now a thing of the past...GREAT! Passenger side mirror fit very well the first time. Other side not so much. The next day after install I close the door in my garage and hear a funny "crack" noise. It's the mirror overlay hitting the oem glass behind it. I then check it to see if I can pull it off and find out that only about 1/8" in the extreme corners of only one side of the adhesive pad actually made contact with the oem glass. I cannot believe that it made it 90 miles like that and not fall off. I then search for my roll of 3M trim tape, cut 3 strips, then stick it back on there. Now it's not going anywhere and fit/looks as good as the other side. Only caveat is that it does take a while to get used to the blue color. It's very strange at first. On this pic you can see just where the adhesive pad made contact with the oem glass on the right side. Those two corners are all that would touch no matter how hard I pressed. It held so well at first, I never knew. If you pick up a set be careful of this side. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/Drew_Jones/08%20LGT%20Spec-B/P4270012.jpg [URL="http://legacygt.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=1586"VbGallery/URL]
Pheel73
Do these affect the heated mirrors in any way??
BAC5.2
What would prevent you for simply replacing the OE glass with these? Not overlay them, but completely replace the OE glass? Mark34
It slows down the effect of the heating mirrors, but they do still clear up.
grimsleeper
My old P11 Infiniti G20t's side views had overlays (or maybe it was a glass treatment) similar to these from the factory - albeit a little more subtle. They do indeed cut down on glare, but imo the coolest effect was the fact that they would cast light blue caustics on the silver paint when the sun hit them right.
