http://scoobysprint.com/images/home/scooby-sprint-championship.gif The 2009 Scooby Sprint Championship is the UK’s first Subaru-only motorsport series and is open to privateers with standard road cars up to Pro Constructor Teams wielding the UK’s fastest, fire-breathing Subaru Imprezas.

From the makers of ScoobyLive – Scooby Shootout, the biggest Subaru event on the Calendar, the Scooby Sprint Championship takes place over 5 rounds, on airfield based, coned courses, against the clock. There are classes for every level of car, and at £97 registration, and only £50 per event (for Privateers) it’s great for those who just want to have some fun in the pride and joy, as well as the budding Colin McRae, Richard Burns, or Petter Solberg in all of us!

The Scooby Sprint Championship is a UK, 5 round series, open only to Subarus, and consisting of 4 events on the Scooby Sprint handling circuit, and a combined handling circuit and 1/4 mile drag strip final-showdown, for double points, at ScoobyLive 2009.

The Scooby Sprint Championship regulations have been designed to allow the entry of different levels of Subaru, from base standard cars, to full-blown fire breathing monsters. The eligibility and class regulations have been kept purposefully simple, but operate on a "Spirit of the regulations" basis, and the decision of Scooby Sprint as to the classification of a competing car is final. This is purely to avoid lengthy and impractical restrictions placed on competitors, while still avoiding unfair tactics.

Scooby Sprint Championship events carry the following points :

Position Points

1st 10

2nd 7

3rd 5

4th 4

5th 3

6th 2

7th 1

Points are allocated per event, to competitors entered into each of the various classes and championship eligibilities as follows:

Driver's Championship points are awarded as above, for each event, to the top Seven placed competitors. There is also a Drivers' Championship for the Modified and Unmodified class.

Constructors must nominate their primary competing car, prior to each event. They can also nominate (through agreement with the individual competitors) five additional competing cars operated by privateers. Constructor's Championship points are awarded to the Constructor team, for their primary car, and the top placed of their additional nominated cars, should any of them finish in the points.

There is also a Constructors' Championship for the Modified and Unmodified class, but constructors are nether required to nor restricted from nominating each of their primary and/or additional cars in any of the available classes - providing it is eligible.

Privateers' Championship points are awarded on the basis of recalculating the results as though no Constructor registered Primary Cars were competing. In other words, the first placed car that is not nominated as the Primary car for a Constructor team, will receive 10 Privateers' Championship points. There is also a Privateers' Championship for the Modified and Unmodified class.

The top 5 overall placed competitors, after all timed runs have closed, are entered automatically into the immediate Event Showdown. Each competitor has one more, timed run. The fastest in this timed run Scores another 3 Drivers' Championship points, and second place scores an addition 1 Drivers' Championship point.
