GP2001
So I was curious how long on average stock struts on a LGT hold up. I have 50k on mine and it rides fine, however I went over a speedbump the other day a little bit faster than usual and heard a nice squeek as the shock absorbed the impact. If i go over speedbumps normal it still doesnt happen, just that one time when I didnt see it coming. My reason for asking is I am looking to throw on some H-Techs, I dont know if its worth it to do it now, because I feel like my struts will be ready to be changed in another 10k miles, so I might try to grab some lower mileage stockers to put in. I feel like mine should go to about 70k as it is, but I think the lower springs will cut the life down on them.
JoeFromPA
At your mileage, swaps the struts with the springs. Don't do it as a seperate job; that's just twice the labor and two alignments.

kha
yep, i agree. i wouldn't put put in stiffer springs with stock shocks. the stock suspension is underdamped to begin with.
