Guest turboman
I would feel sorry for any professional that has to drive clients around SF in a new Legacy LGT 5 speed. How do you manage to parallel park on a steep hill without stinking up the east Coast? Has the EPA ever cited you for atmospheric pollution or public nuisance? How do Subaru dealers handle the complaints?
pacbreak gt
Grew up in SF driving a VW bug. Learned to LOVE my parking break on the hills. Resorted to the old trick the other day after shaving down my clutch a 1/4 inch. Smelled terrible.
fressshhh
yup---> 2005 LGT + SF = stinky clutch. The parking brake is your friend.
Weasel
We don't need no stinkn' clutches, we got skills baby!
Ken S
Set ACC to recirculate. SF hills (or even Berkeley hills) are no fun when parallel parking. Some of those hills will cause auto trannies to roll back quite a bit. Ken
SFGR415
E-Brake for me...although...one time on a hill, i was in my car and a BMW M5 circa 2002 model year in front of me (about 7 feet in front of me) statred rolling back when the light turned green...i honked, etc...but he "front-ended" me...guy was driving his dads car and couldn't drive a stick. I hate those people that get within like a foot or two of you on a hill (i usually give space)

pacbreak gt
Not sure, but I think someone posted a while back that Subaru may have intentionally created the stinky clutch as an abuse indicator.
