GP2001
So I am wanting to lower my 05 LGT sedan, and am trying to figure out which springs to do. I don't have a ton of money so I am trying to go a more affordable route. I had Tein S springs on my Eclipse, and liked them a lot, had a very good ride quality for being lowered. I want the Legacy to be lower, but don't want to sacrifice a ton of ride quality, and am not overly concerned with handling. Better handling would be nice, but I am not willing to sacrifice ride quality for agility, I just don't drive that aggressive. With that said, do you think the springs would be sufficient for my needs? They would be on my stock struts, until the struts go then I will get aftermarket. How do these differ from the H-techs? pierce88
S-tech are rough and reallly low... Idk if I'd do it again.... Potholes make my teeth chatter. Those gaps approaching bridges on the highway are the loudest most awful sound you'll ever hear... But it does look amazing Heres a picture: http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/8622/0123091317il6.jpg http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/0123091317il6.jpg/1/w1280.png

What springs would you guys recommend to keep the ride quality good?
RdiggA
BC Racing Coilovers:lol: But seriously, i had S - Techs on stock struts and i ran them for about 10,000 miles, replaced the S - Techs with the BC Racing Coilovers and WOW. The difference in ride is amazing, the car feels sooo much more in control now. If i could have done it again i would have just gotten these coilovers from the start and saved myself the money for install and for the springs. PM Josh at IMPORTIMAGE, he'll set you up with a great price and hes very easy to work with.

I imagined coilovers would be quite rough, are they adjustable?
RdiggA
yes they are, up to 30, i currently run mine at 18 clicks towards stiffness and for me thats very streetable, but if it wasnt for you, you could always make them softer.
pierce88
The ride quality with the coilovers isn't bad? I imagined coilovers would be quite rough, are they adjustable? I really just think these cars are too heavy to do just springs. And the fact that the stock shocks are underdampened. Makes the ride awfully bouncy and probably actually hurts your handling. -Pierce
RaceComp Engineering
It's not that they're heavy....you can make a spring as stiff as you want. It's just that lowering the car 2 inches or whatever puts you on the bumpstops on the stock shocks. Drop the car that much on any shock and it's gonna handle and ride like poo. That and the stock shocks are pretty soft like you said. - Andrew
