Regal05LGT
I have been doing research and I am inconclusive so here is my question. I want to pick up a set of 17x8 +48 and run a 245/40/17 tire..... I am on koni/swift for suspension which gives barely a finger gap in the front.... Will I be ok or rub or what? Thanks! N.sane
This guy isnt having any issues: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83602 But he's on H Techs, so the bigger drop on Swifts might rub. If I were you I'd run 225/45/17 just to be safe though. Hope that helps.
JonLGT
I ran 18x8 +45 with 235/40s and I didnt have any room for expansion. But I am probably lower than you.
Regal05LGT
Think that's a good tire size to go with or would you guys recommend something else?
JonLGT
235/40 was a good size I though. I think with a 245/40 your sidewall will be a bit large. But this is just my opinion. 235s are cheaper also.
Regal05LGT
Good point, cheaper is better lol

Regal05LGT
Those look really good, how much wider than stock are they? Do you have any pics straight on at the tires? Thanks,
devobuzz
They're on 17x8 rims (+48mm offset) 235/40/17. Stock size is 17x7 (+53mm offset) 215/45/17. Here is the closest pic I have straight on.
Regal05LGT
Nice nice, thank you, I'll prob go with 235/40 I really like the look of yours and hopefully I'll be good with clearance!
devobuzz
yeh no clearance issues at all. 245's you might have a slight rub with lowered springs.
