STI rear spoiler (sedan)

I like this spoiler, but it is pricey... has anyone purchased/installed one? Where did you get it, how much, and was it painted?

Thanks!

Here's another rear lip style spoiler, without a brake light.

It's the one Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru puts on their "GTX". I'm pretty sure it's made by ANS. I wanted to see if I could buy directly from the manufacturer (you know, cut out the middle man) but they said they'd direct me to the people they developed it for. I asked for the referal a month ago but never heard back from ANS so just guessed it was Kolb Jr.

Kolb parts department sells it for $399.00 and says it lists for $545.00. Shipping was quoted as $12.69 for UPS ground from NY to IL. It comes already painted. Installation requires drilling mounting holes. Kolb used to have installation pictures and instructions on their web site but I don't see them any more.

I decided to go with a Subaru JDM spoiler but haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

Note, the link above is not for the STi rear lip spoiler. It still looks damn good in my opinion, though.

Thus my first comment in post # 5, "non-STI lip spoiler from AVO"

;)

It comes down to whether or not twice the money is worth the IBL and thhe 'STi' moniker. IMHO, no. It's a lip spoiler, not a full-on spoiler where you would expect one.

Good Q. Do you have a sedan without one? It should be run to the trunk lid, if so, and should be obvious is you take a look. I would venture a guess that the wiring harness comes with the spoiler.

one question about the spoiler - is the wiring in the trunk already in place to hook up that brake light on the spoiler.?

Yep, check out my link a couple posts back, i point out the location behind the trunk liner w/ the aux brake light plug.

Its the square white thing in the middle of the pic
