In the cars section it seems all the major runners are using Diesels...even Mitsubishi - a long time winner with its Pajero model - has switched to one. Of course SPEED channel coverage is lacking, but at least the official website includes summary daily videos. http://www.dakar.com/2009/DAK/LIVE/us/100/r7_7-videos.html And in case people do not know, the 2008 Dakar was a let down as it was canceled due to safety concerns.
