Marc LeWinter
An elderly woman ran a stop sign and slid into my left front bumper- left a basketball size indentation. ( black leg gt wagon ). Next morning I went to inspect damage in daylight - it had popped out and there is absolutely no evidence of the hit except a microscopic scratch. The only thing I,m worried about is that maybe the paint will start peeling from being stressed- any one have any experience with this.

3.7L H6
Wish I could help you. I would imagine that paint area would go sooner than the rest, but all I can do is speculate. Awesome that your car is self-healing. Lol I've had a few appliances that do the same thing.
DAP
I wonder if there is any hidden damage behind the bumper cover.
dv8ingvector
keep an eye out for what will look like an air bubble; you will probably be ok but sometimes the paint will break loose from the urethane without immediate signs of cracking. racerdave
Subaru -- despite some of the complaints about thin paint -- at least must use a good flex additive in the bumpers.

Enlight
Yeah, I bumped my rear bumper and it popped out the next morning, but I have lines where the bumper was pushed in. muFreight.co A JDM Container Sharing Service from Japan to NYC Website | Instagram | Email Bessie II's Thread
blusube
like the other guys said, the paint will most likely start cracking and eventually peeling...
peniXmalone
someone hit the back right side of my bumper a couple weeks back, but it popped out that same day.
rallispec
are these bumpers plastic or metal? My SE-R had plastic bumpers and i was rear ended twice, both times the bumper ate the damage and popped back out. The mounting brackets / springs / foam (whatever it is) had to be replaced both times though.
