The official MY07 is an oddball thread

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to get a list going of all the features of the MY07 compared to the normal 05-06 and the 08-09+. I am curious more than anything since its kinda the bastard offspring of the Legacy models and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am listing the feature and the grouping that feature goes with.

05-06 Features:

- Body Style

- No paddle shifters

08-09+ Features:

- Aux input jack

- Split folding rear seats

- VF46 turbo

- Newer gauges

- SI-drive

- Wheels

- Radio/Stereo

- TPMS

- Wood grain accents

- 3.90 final ratio instead of 4.11

- Catless up pipe

- Engine airpump

- Engine (block and heads)

- 8.4 compression ratio instead of 8.2

- New color options

- CANBus

Depends on build date:

- Seats

- Auto tranny

Basically it's the 05/06 body style with almost all the 08+ improvements. I don't really see it as an odd model, to me it's ideal, I wanted the original look + all the upgrades like folding rear seats, aux-in, etc.

^ It changed twice, 05/06 get 4.11, 07 gets 3.90, 08 gets 3.08 (and an entirely different transmission)

No. Tranny and final ratio is same for 07-08. You got wrong info or confused it with 5EAT final ratios.

Sorry, I'm talking about the 5EAT. Nothing specified 5MT ;) Was wrong on the 07 anyhow, it's 3.272 not 3.9 for the 5EAT on there. None the less, the 07 and 08+ are different finals for the 5EAT.

2007:

5spd automatic Sportshift

standard on wagon, optional on sedan

NA on SpecB, required for sedan with navigation

1st 3.540

2nd 2.264

3rd 1.471

4th 1.

5th .834

final reduction 3.272

2008:

5speed automatic Sportshift

1st 3.540

2nd 2.264

3rd 1.471

4th 1.0

5th 0.834

final reduction 3.083

It looks like Spec B's 6MT final drive changed from 06 - 07 - 08 as well. 07 looks like the 6MT had a 3.4 final and 08 has a 3.9 final? Lotsa funny stuff with the transmissions across the years.

07 spec b's come with 06 spec b rims, but they come with the 6mt that 08+ spec b's have.

Smaller restrictor pill that 05-06, i think its the same as the 08+

Also, 07 is the first year DGM was made available to the legacy. I think it might have been the first time the color was introduced to subaru in general, altho i could be wrong.

Another first, the 07 was the first leggy equiped with the canbus system.

cars101.com is known for messing up this info. It's 3.9 final on MT.

That's because '06 Spec.B's had 5MT not 6MT...

The title of this thread should be "The official MY07 *let's come up with as much random confusing information as humanly possible* thread..."
