OB owners: preferred winter tire width - 225 vs. 215?

Fyi, I'm currently running 225/60-16's on 16" steelies during winter and always feel like they're a little too wide in the white stuff. I'm trying to figure out how big a deal 10MM difference would make in the snow on these cars like if I were to drop to a 215/60 or 215/65.

 

I know the "narrower is better in snow" saying, but I'm not sure at what size I would see an appreciable difference.

 

Experiences/opinions would be appreciated.
