johndas Posted December 1, 2008 Share Posted December 1, 2008 J- Does your rear hatch open all the way w/ that Thule box on top... Looks like the box slopes up in the back.. Ive used my "Packasport" box for a few seasons and its annoying that I cant open the hatch all the way( Im 6'6'' and dont like to get in funny position to get into the back, but put up with it for secure locking winter storage). Oh and +1 on the Corazon, it jus looks meaner(but I prefer the blue subie badge). To answer your questions about the box...this is the New Thule Spirit 1600...it has a a different cut on the back to allow better access and less interference...It rides amazing but still does interfere with full motion range a bit...I just have dogs in the back so I don't need alot of access...the best part is should I need full access the way Thule is set up it is so freaking easy to adjust forward...takes a minute! Some of the pics show the base design at the rear to allow for better range of motion...I have it set fairly far back and with about 2 inches farther forward I ahve about 75% of the opening range...I also put some rubber strips on the box where the contact is made with the rear wing!
