Garandman
Well, now that it's once again time to throw the bums out, you might be interested in the Pew Foundations' ratings on government efficiency. The New England states rate poorly overall. The national average is a B-: only CT and VT achieved that. Maine and Massachusetts both rated a C. And the two lowest rankings in the country were Rhode Island, C-, and New Hampshire, D+. Utah and Washington rated an A-. But this rating isn't the whole story: Utah does not fund pre-school access at all, for example, while WA does, (as do CT, MA, ME, and VT). For those of us with young children, that counts for a lot.
