blackfang
Just remove it. It doesn't hurt it and saves you the headaches. Bdubs
Get some tin snips and rip that sucker off! The N/A exhausts don't get crazy hot where it would endanger any engine components.

Reuben
Kill! Yeah, i run without a heatsheild. And the old SS's have a scoop dedicated to cooling the turbo anyway.
ondabus
i, too, have learned the simple remedy to a loud heat shield.... but this winter was thinking about painting the exhaust w/ a rust proofing paint... is there such a thing that can take the heat? salty roads are ahead of me... Bdubs
I've used VHT Flameproof coating before. I put some on some headers, and it worked great. It retards the heat, and protects the metal. A good solution for a missing heat shield.
