rubbercow
How do you turn off the seatbelt beeps and other buzzers, especially the one when the manual transmission is engaged too long in idle?

scans007
Oh boy...let me save you....before you get toasted ;p Do a search on seatbelt chime. There's a quick easy way to disable it. 1) Turn key on (furthest point before engine fires) 2) Buckle seatbelt fully in and out 20 times 3) Turn key off..... Start her up, and the initial 5 chime will ding and then all will be good......lots of info on it if you search OK I searched for ya... http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6210&highlight=Seatbelt+chime

firedawgs
Actually, someone on this forum found that same box and hacked it up. Took out the small speaker and glued the plastic back. I would do a search for that thread, but I am lazy tonight. Updated my vBGarage:
Opie
Or the next time your in for service ask you dealer to disable the chime. They can set it to only beep once, then it doesn't beep anymore.
firedawgs
Check out my thread about "why we know more about our cars than the dealer" Or the next time your in for service ask you dealer to disable the chime. They can set it to only beep once, then it doesn't beep anymore. My dealer said that there is no way to disable the seat belt chime. Wrong again, Atlantic Subaru. Wrong again, Atlantic Subaru. Tell them to check their Service Manuals, easy to follow instructions using the Subaru Select Monitor. Or if you visit Florida anytime soon, stop by! firedawgs
I did go back and tell them how to do it. Their response "Oh". Problem not solved. Updated my vBGarage:
