jonklein611 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 So normally my temp gauge stays right in the middle say @ 9:00. On my way up to school today, i was shocked to see it near 11:00ish. Needless to say I opened the windows, dumped the heater into full and cranked it. The temp immediately dropped back down. To give some background info: highway driving, ac on 2 with re cycle on, round 3,000 rpm crusing @ 80mphish. Anywho I pulled over at the next exit, coolant tank is still at fill mark, and not boiling. No belts broken, no steam, no drips, no leaks, no funny smells. After getting back onto the highway, she ran fine but the temp gauge kept moving up a lil then drop again. And after a bit longer it settled down and returned to normal. Any ideas? I'm at a loss and i really don't feel like cooking this thing. Cause I it too much. Thanks in advance, Jon
jamal Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 air in the cooling system probably. Could be there's a small leak somewhere; radiators tend to develop them where the endtanks attach.
jonklein611 Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 Ok I think i have a leak, my coolant tank is lower than it was.
99SUS SFD Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Any indication of a leak? Puddles of coolant left on the driveway?
jonklein611 Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 Not puddles, I'm showing a leak from where the bottom hose meets the radiator.
SpecBee Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 What does you oil level look like? Last time you changed it?
