Three blind mice
I have just purchased aftermarket wheels, 16 inch by seven wide for my 04 legacy wagon. I am wondering what is the sportiest fitment for daily driving I can get away with, all season. I ordered some Kumho Ecsta ASX 225/50/16, but am considering a 225/55/16. First, which has a shorted sidewall. Should I go with a 215/55/16? Tires are about 300. For 500 I could run 225/55/16 pole positions for less than 500? Are they worth it? I live in maine, drive on slow, crappy roads, but like to push it-a little-thanks for your thoughts- TBM:lol:

JonLGT
You can fot a 225 on a 7" wheel but I would stick with 215s. Not sure about the profile though, I dont know much about higher profile tires.
Dergara
Kumho Ecsta ASX, I love these tires. I am on my second set and the ride and noise quality are great. Keep them rotated and they will last. I do not know how they do in the snow but my research says they are better then most. As for the fit, I would check what Tire Rack recommends for that size wheel for your car. “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here” -Dante Alighieri http://youtu.be/lLFunBPgPOo
ilh
225 is fine on 7-inch wheels, especially with 50 or 55 profile. Many of us happily run 225/45 on stock wheels, and the OB has 225/55 stock on 7-inchers.
Dergara
The key is to get a tire that not only fits safely on the rim but fills the wheel tub enough. You would not want it to look like you put OB tires on a WRX or the opposite. “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here” -Dante Alighieri http://youtu.be/lLFunBPgPOo
