No AM reception, what to do...

Recommended Posts

I just installed a new aftermarket radio, however after I hooked it up, I have no AM reception, normally not a big deal but I loose all my sports. The FM is just as bad as it usually was, but the now no AM. Any thoughts? Are there any boosters that would work for AM? Anyone else notice this problem?

TIA

I forgot to add...

when disconnecting the stock radio, there were 3 connectors, one is the main wire harness, Speakers and Power, one was what looked to be a ground, but there was a third, any idea? did i mess up the AM because i did hook up the extra wire, or this third connector.

I found this, http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ItemBrowse/c-10101/s-10101/p-100000145002/mediaCode-ZX/appId-100000145002/Pr-p_CATENTRY_ID:100000145002

Does anyone have any experience with something like this?

Thanks Again...

I have done more digging and here is what we got, it's amazing what you can find on this forum as well as the rest of the net. The Power antenna line seems to be the key, I'll report on that tomorrow after i get a chance to hook it up and let you all know.

Got it!!! all it took was hooking up the Blue Power Antenna in the harness. I guess I skipped it.

I was running my speed sensing cable. anyone know where that is? I have a color (Green and Black) but no location.

Thanks everyone.
